Inter House Cross Country Challenge
Yesterday nearly 300 children spent the afternoon competing in a fun yet challenging cross country race around our school grounds. We were all very pleased to see every child do their best and also that everyone finished the course. All of our children should be very proud of themselves.
Mr Burdes calculated the results based on every child's finishing place meaning that everyone's effort counted for their house.
In the end it was House Thoresby who took the title this year.
Results are listed below along with the top 10 finishers in each race.
Additionally the houses are currently battling it out for the Sports Hall Athletics Title....watch this space for the results.
Sports Hall Athletics Finals
Last week 40 of our children competed in the finals of the Rushcliffe Sports Hall Athletics Finals.
On Monday one of teams raced, jumped and threw in the borough's B final. The speed of the children and also the talent that was clear from the field events was very impressive and our children were up against it all night. The team did their best and thoroughly enjoyed their time to finish 7th out of 8 tea ms. Considering the standard of athletes this was a super result.
On Thursday 3 of our teams competed in the A final and once again there was fierce competition. All the schools at the final were fast and had been practising their relay changeovers. Indeed in one race the competition was so tight that only a second separated the top 6 teams. The Rushcliffe finals are certainly competitive! It was no easy task to get to this event in the first place but to compete as they all did was brilliant. Mr Burdes was very impressed with everyone. The results are as follows:
1st Radcliffe Royal Blues 46pts
2nd West Bridgford Juniors 49pts
3rd Edwalton 59pts
4th Lady Bay 85pts
5th Radcliffe Hawaiian Blues 90pts
6th Cross Dale Drive 106pts
7th Orston 107pts
8th Radcliffe Sky Blues 117pts
9th Flintham 128pts
