Quad Kids Athletic Triumph!

Last night 24 children from year 5 & 4 represented the school at the Rushcliffe Quad Kids Athletics Championships at West Bridgford School. It was a super evening and all of the children tried their best and had a wonderful time competing against 17 other schools. Mr Burdes & Miss Terzic were really proud of all the children for how hard they tried and this was especially the case in the 400m run. Several children smashed their 'pbs' (personal best time) for this event and their joy at doing so managed to (temporarily) help them forget the pain in their legs. Special mention should go to : Ruby, Edie, Ria, Aimee, Josh R, Josh H,  Matthew and Matty - who were all at least 5 secs quicker and for a few they were 10sec quicker than our club races - AWESOME!

The results were announced this morning with our Dark Blue Team winning overall, the Hawaiian Blue Team 4th (by just a couple of points) and the Sky Blue Team were 8th. This is a terrific achievement and our next step is the county finals on Friday 8th July at the University of Nottingham School Games. Good luck!

Super Girls' Cricket Team 2016

Yesterday, ten of our girls from year 6 competed in the Rushcliffe Cricket Competition at Plumtree Cricket Club. Miss Hancock reported that they played fantastically well and all of the girls had a super amount of fun all afternoon. Their batting was brilliant and everyone was delighted to see several '4's being hit and even a '6'. Plus there were lots of quick singles to add to the excitement. The girls won 2 of the matches and only lost their 3rd by 2 runs but as a result they weren't able to progress to the final. All the teachers at school wanted to say a BIG WELL DONE to them for their attitude and effort - and we hope they will carry on playing at secondary school.

Boys' Football Team Make County Final for 1st Time in School's History.

Congratulations to our year 6 football team. They played a super semi final match against Bleasby School and won 8-0. Their teamwork and passing was excellent. Whilst the score line was high, our boys represented our school values brilliantly - making all staff and parents very proud of them.

Their county final will be on Wednesday 22nd June at Burton Joyce ( a neutral venue) and their opposition will be Jesse Gray school. We would like to wish both teams every success and hope that the final is a really exciting game that showcases year 6 football. Good luck boys!
