Yr 3 & 4 Friendly Football Tournament

Recently our school hosted a fun and friendly football tournament organised by our First Grade Sports Coaches. It was a lovely afternoon with 12 teams playing on 3 separate pitches on our school field. ROTJS had 2 teams one of yr4 boys and one from yr3. All of our players enjoyed themselves and one of the teams even managed to score a goal against some pretty tough competition. We hope to have more friendly matches in the future and will let the children know when these are likely to happen.

Whole School Cross Country Relay

Yesterday 32 of our children took part in the Rushclife Cross Country Relay Competition. It was wonderful to take 4 teams of children, each with a boy and girl from yr3,4,5 &6. The course around Rushcliffe Country Park was challenging for many of the children and they all did their very best to get around it as fast as they could. There were some brilliant runners there from the whole of Rushcliffe and our children enjoyed the challenge of racing them. Many of our children were running in this event for the very first time and Mr Burdes was particularly proud of Ruby, Molly & Christina for volunteering to race as we were short of numbers. These 3 girls and the rest of our squad did brilliantly. Whilst we haven't got the full results yet our royal blue team won bronze which is super result for them and well deserved.

Royal Blues - 3rd

Hawaiian Blues - 12th

Sky Blues - 19th

Blue Polos - 20th

Great results for everyone, especially as our Sky Blue & Blue Polo teams were picked with a 'names out of the hat' approach for inclusion.

We hope to go to one more cross country event at the end of the school year and so if your child enjoys running then please keep them training with you or alternatively try out Rushcliffe Athletics Club in Bingham.
