Tremendous Tennis

Well done to the 8 children from year 3 & 4 who attended a recent indoor tennis competiton against Lady Bay School.  The children all tried really hard and although for some of them, tennis is a new sport they never gave up and instead listened to advice and improved throughout the evening. The school hopes to continue its lunchtime tennis club after the May half term beak.

Swimmers 5th in the County

Our school swimming team competed in the Nottinghamshire swimming final recently and swam incredibly well. Each child had at least one individual race and one relay and they really swam well. The standard of competition was unbelievable and we even heard that one school there had recently won a National title for with its swim team. So our children were challenged in every single race they swam.  Incredibly our boys and girls 'held their own' and must feel very proud with a 5th place out of the 12 competing teams.  Mr Burdes really hopes that this event has inspired some our team to join a local swim team and carry on.

The school would also like to thank Mr Joe Bailey for his support on poolside at both our heat and final. He was a tremendous support and eer ready with advice for the children. Well done also to Robert Miles School for a super win and good luck to their children at the National Finals.

Yr 4 Football tournament.

2 teams of year 4 children played in a friendly tournament at South Nottinghamshire Academy against other schools. They all had a fantastic time and played their socks off.  Several of out children were playing in their first ever tournament and they loved it. Mr Burdes really hopes that there shall many more games for them in the future.

The school is also delighted that it has been able to field 4 lower school football teams so far this year. Everyone that has put their hand up to play in yr 4 has had a match (which is brilliant) and we even managed to field a yr3 team. The school very much hopes that it will be able to give the year 3 children a few more matches. If it doesn't manage this year then it will be aiming to do this for when the children are in year 4.
