Values and Ethos

Our Ethos
We very much see the development of your child as a partnership between us, where we work and learn together. A warm invitation is extended to all parents, carers and families to attend all functions arranged by both the school and the Parents and Teachers Home School Association (PATHS).
At Radcliffe on Trent Junior School we endeavour to produce a happy, caring atmosphere in which our children can learn. We are keen to develop their skills, knowledge and understanding in all aspects of their education, not just intellectually, but also socially, physically, and creatively. We aim to provide a wide range of learning experiences where children will gain a positive self-image to help them on their path as successful and happy, life-long learners. We aim to provide as many opportunities as possible at this age, so that the children will have many experiences to shape their development, regardless of race, gender, religion, disability or intellect. Our hope is that when our children leave us they are confident, articulate learners well prepared to take on the challenges of secondary education and the society in which we live.
Our school encourages very positive relationships between our children, teachers and parents. We value our children and the contributions that they make and we encourage them to value themselves and others. The whole ethos of the school is one of high achievement, co-operation and awareness of others and their needs.
If there’s anything else you need to know, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us. We try to keep our parents as well informed as possible, including regular newsletters, so do search those school bags on a regular basis! We have a notice board at the end of the school drive and we strive to keep it up to date with all the latest news.
Radcliffe on Trent is a village full of enthusiasm and we try hard to reflect that at the Junior School. We want your child to look back at their time at our school with a sense of pride, fondness and excitement. If you have any comments that can help us improve, please make them and if you think we are doing a good job, please tell us that as well! We look forward to working in partnership with you and your children.
