Residential Visits

Year 4 Residential Visit to DUKES BARN 2020

Dukes Barn has been delayed and we hope to still be able to take pupils later in the year, depending on the situation with COVID19.  Dates toward the end of October have been reserved and as soon as we know that these will be going ahead we will send more detail.

 

This  takes place in April at  an outdoor education centre in the Peak District based in Beeley.  It is a three day course and our children experience activities such as orienteering, hill walking, ropes course, abseiling, canoeing, climbing and problem solving. 

 

The cost for the three days will be £185, to include all food (as wells as tuck shop spending money), accommodation, transport and instruction. For pupil premium it will be £92.50 as the rest will be funded by pupil premium fund.

Payments : Deposit £35 due by 6th December 2019, 2nd Instalment £50 due by 17th January 2020, 3rd Instalment £50 due by 14th February 2020 & 4th Instalment £50 due by 14th March 2020

The full payment will need to be at school by 14th March 2020

 

A typical three day visit would look like this:

Day 1:    11.00am           Arrive Dukes Barn  (introductory talk, show around, sort out dormitories and beds!)        

              12.15pm          Lunch  (children need to have their own packed lunch brought from home)

               Afternoon      Activity session 1 – caving, canoeing, climbing, abseiling, ropes course etc.

               5.00pm            Shower and change

               6.00pm            Evening meal

               Evening           Village quiz/ local walk. Back at the Barn – group games and cocoa.

 

Day 2:     8.30am            Breakfast

                Morning         Activity session 2 – caving, canoeing, climbing, abseiling, ropes course etc.

                1.00pm           Lunch

                Afternoon     Activity session 3 – caving, canoeing, climbing, abseiling, ropes course etc.

                5.00pm           Shower and change

                6.00pm           Evening meal

                Evening          Camp fire and games – group discussion time and cocoa.

 

Day 3:     8.30am            Breakfast

                9.00am           Pack belongings, strip beds

                Morning         Activity session 4 – caving, canoeing, climbing, abseiling, ropes course etc.

                1.00pm           Lunch

                2.00pm           Return to school for 3.30pm

 

Departure date and times information

We will inform you after half-term with the group your child is going in but here are the dates and times again for now:

Group 1 leave on Monday 30th March and return on Wednesday 1st April at approx 3.20pm

Group 2 leave on Wednesday 1st April and return on Friday 3rd April approx 3.20pm

You will need to collect your child from the hall. If you have to collect a child from the infants first, we will stay with the Dukes Barn children in the hall until you collect them. J

Year 6 Residential Visit to Walesby Forest 14-16 October 2020

We have booked the year 6 residential trip to a new and very exciting venue for us at Walesby Forest next year.  Walesby Forest is an outward bound activity centre, set in 250 acres of woodland in the North of Nottinghamshire and has been running since 1938.

 

The facilities and care at Walesby are amazing and we feel that this represents excellent value for money.

 

We expect the cost of this residential to be about £130, which includes transport, all meals and activities (we will confirm the final cost at a later date).  We will need a non-refundable £40 deposit please which needs to be at school before Friday 31st January 2020.

 

When you pay your deposit, you will be issued with a payment card in order to be able to spread the cost and pay in instalments. 

Following instalment deadlines: 1st May 2020 £30;  17th July 2020 £30;   2nd October £30 final payment.

Walesby Forest Letters

Please remember to bring a sleeping bag and pillow to Walesby.

We offer a payment plans for all our residential trips to assist parents with spreading the cost rather than requesting a lump sum.  Please contact the office if you have concerns about payments as we will always help to come to a mutual arrangement where we can.
