The free seasonal flu spray is offered to all children and young people in:

Primary School Years: Foundation 2 Year 1 Year 2 Year 3 Year 4 Year 5 Year 6

Secondary School Years: Year 7 Year 8 Year 9 Year 10 Year 11

Even if your child received this last year it is recommended, they have it again this year or they won’t be protected. With COVID-19 in circulation it is more important than ever to reduce the number of those becoming ill with flu this winter to help protect them and the NHS.

Childhood Flu Vaccination programme, due to take place at school on 1st October 2026

From July, The Nottinghamshire NHS school age immunisation service will contact parents and guardians directly to ask for consent.

You’ll receive an email or text message from the NHS with a link to an online consent form.

You can use the online form to:

• give consent for your child to be vaccinated
• say you do not want your child to be vaccinated
• update your contact details if needed

Filling in the form will be quick and easy. It’s important to respond, even if you do not want your child to be vaccinated.
