Spelling Shed - Stage 6 Medium-Term Plan

We are excited to share the Spelling Shed Medium-Term Plan for Stage 6, which outlines the spelling objectives and word lists for the academic year. This structured plan has been carefully designed to support pupils in mastering advanced spelling patterns, rules, and vocabulary.

Throughout the year, children will focus on:

• Words with prefixes and suffixes, including ‘over-’, ‘-ably’, and ‘-ibly’.
• Spelling rules for specific sounds, such as the ‘f/’ sound spelled ‘ph’ and unstressed vowel sounds.
• Words with challenging origins, patterns, and exceptions.
• Vocabulary expansion through grammar and thematic word groups.
