At Radcliffe on Trent Junior School, we are committed to ensuring that the education provided to pupils in RSE is appropriate to their age and complies with the requirements of the Equality Act 2010.

We recognise, in line with statutory guidance, that parents have the right to request for their child to be withdrawn from some or all of the sex education delivered as part of RSE (excluding sex education covered within the National Curriculum for Science), but not from relationships education at the primary level.  Each year, we will provide overviews of the content to be taught prior to these lessons and offer the opportunity for parents/carers to view lesson plans and speak to teachers.

Parents wishing to exercise this right must do so in writing to the Headteacher (Mrs Clare Allsopp). They will be invited to discuss their concerns, and if they still wish to withdraw their child, we will make reasonable adjustments and provide suitable work for their child during that time.
